Salads are an excellent choice for eating right and staying fit, but iceberg lettuce with fat-free ranch will leave you rummaging through your fridge for ‘real’ food.

So what if you had an award-winning summer salad that kept you full and satisfied?  Would you still reach for that cheeseburger?  Absolutely not!

Whole Food’s Mango & Avocado Salad is chock full of fruits and vegetables (healthy living essentials), quick to make and tastes delicious!  It’s a little sweet, a little salty and will keep you happy, not hungry — make it, we promise!

Mango & Avocado Salad (Recipe for 2)

From Whole Foods 

Salad:
-Hand full of spinach for each salad
-1 Ripe Avocado, peeled & cubed
-1 Ripe Mango, peeled & cubed
-a pinch of salt for each salad
*Put the hand full of spinach (or your favorite dark leafy green) on a plate, and add the peeled and chopped Avocado and Mango. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over each salad.

Dressing:
-1 tbsp of Lime Juice
-1/2 tbsp of Chopped Cilantro
-1/4 tsp of Salt
-a pinch of Black Pepper
-a pintch of Sugar
-1 1/2 tbsp of Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
*Whisk together the lime juice, chopped Cilantro, Salt, Pepper and Sugar. Then, whisk in the Extra-Virgin Olive Oil until all the ingredients combine and make a thick dressing. Pour over the salads, serve and eat up!

Some more tasty ingredients to add:
-Black Beans
-Shrimp
-Tomatoes

Other dressings I recommend to try:
-A little bit of lime or lemon juice, with a pinch of salt is a simple way to dress it up
-There are plenty of delicious mango dressing & pomegranate dressings to buy
-Vinaigrette taste great, too
